What’s an Eco Hotel, Anyway?
And would I know if I had one? Well…yes, you would. Because most likely you’d already be committed to minimizing your hotel’s impact on the environment, funding environmental conservation activities, encouraging free trade in the local community, respecting human rights, and promoting knowledge and understanding of sustainability and ecological practices both to your hotel’s staff and hotel’s guests.
But let’s assume you’re new to this whole sustainability and eco hotel thing, otherwise you probably wouldn’t be reading this.
An eco hotel is generally described as complying with the general description I mentioned in the first paragraph. Did you notice how it’s pretty vague? And did you notice how it could easily apply to both a rustic boutique hotel located in the jungle and also to a larger hotel in an urban setting?
That’s my point. You can be eco anywhere. Your hotel doesn’t have to be on a farm, or in the jungle, or in a forest. It’s the little things that count, and you can do that anywhere.
Are you still with me? You can do it! I promise…
(And did I mention you’ll probably save money?)

Very interesting . Tell me more.
